Analysis questionnaire India From the questionnaires we can conclude many things, so we decided to divide them into three subgroups: - Family - Beliefs and traditions - Religion
Family In the questionnaire we asked the question; do you spend more time with your family or with your friends? The results showed that the people in India mostly spend time equally or even more with family. In India 25% of the people asked spends more time with their family than with friends, while in the Netherlands only 14% does. This is logical for people in India are most of the time in a house with ofcourse their parents but sometimes also with their grandparents, which leads to them having a very close bond.
We also asked; are you close with your brothers and sisters? Nearly 90% answered yes. This adds to what the previous part about family discussed, that Indian people have a closer bond with their family than the Dutch people.
Beliefs and traditions The question; is there a tradition of arranged marriage in your family? was asked. At the Indian questionnaire nearly 40% people said yes. In India is it more normal to have an arranged marriage while in the Netherlands is it not as normal and only few people have one. However, to the question if there is one person who takes all the important decisions, all the students answerd no. This also represents the bond the family has. Religion Do you believe your religion affects your moral beliefs? Indian people answered more yes than no, 62,5% answered yes where as in the Netherlands only 32% answered yes. This is mainly the result of the difference of importance of religion. In India more people have a religion than in the Netherlands if you look at percentages. And in India is religion more important in your daily life and what you belief and how you act. In the Netherlands this I also present, but far more less than in India.
